We know that sometimes things happen that impact your studies. Please know there is always support available.
Academic support:
We recommend that you talk to your Personal Tutor if you are having difficulties with your studies.
Who is my Personal Tutor, and how do I contact them?
If you miss or fail assessments, or your performance has been significantly affected by a personal circumstance beyond your control, you can apply for Extenuating Circumstances. See these FAQs for more info:
What are Extenuating Circumstances (ECs)?
How can I make an Extenuating Circumstances claim?
Emotional support:
The LSBU Mental Health and Wellbeing team can offer a safe and confidential space for you to talk and can help you figure out what a helpful next step could be. Students can be referred to a counselling service if this seems appropriate. See this FAQ for more: How do I book an appointment with the Mental Health and Wellbeing team?
All students also have access to a free, secure, online self-help platform called Togetherall, which offers a space to anonymously share how you're feeling, as well as take courses such as 'managing stress'. You can connect with a mental health professional (not an LSBU member of staff) if helpful. . You can sign up for free with your lsbu.ac.uk email address. Find out more here: What is Togetherall?
If you have experienced an incident of sexual violence, hate, harassment, bullying or discrimination, please let us know on the Report + Support platform. If you choose to leave your contact details, we will reach out within 1 day (Mon - Fri) with specialist support.
