The DDS team provides advice on adjustments to your course and will help coordinate these to ensure that there are no barriers to your learning, enabling you to make the most of your time at LSBU. It is helpful to provide supporting information or evidence relating to your disability or condition. However, we can still discuss the support available to you without evidence documents.
Please note, you will need to provide evidence if you would like to apply for Disabled Students' Allowances.
How can I share my evidence with Disability and Dyslexia Support (DDS)?
If you have supporting information or evidence that you'd like to share, you can do this in a couple of ways:
-
By submitting an enquiry through MyAccount and attaching a copy of your evidence
-
Sharing a copy during or after an appointment with a Disability Advisor
-
By emailing disability@lsbu.ac.uk with your evidence attached
If you have already been diagnosed with a Specific Learning Difference and have a diagnostic report or a letter from a professional, please upload this on MyAccount by selecting 'Specific Learning Differences - provide evidence of take a screening' under the 'My Support' tab:

Providing evidence for a Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA) application
If you are applying for DSA, you will need to provide evidence as part of your application.
The evidence should be on headed paper, dated and signed by a professional. It should include:
-
whether it is likely to last for at least 12 months
-
if any medication prescribed has side effects which may impact on learning
-
any other information that you think might help assess appropriate support.
You should also state the impact (or potential impact) on day-to-day activities/studies.
