It's OK to not be feeling OK sometimes. We all experience low mood at times - sometimes because there is something happening in our lives that makes us feel sad, and other times for no particular reason.
If low mood persists, it is important to talk to a GP about this. MIND has
advice about talking to your GP on their website, and
advice about depression – including symptoms, self care and treatment.
There are lots of resources available to help you with coping with low mood:
- The Mindset Matters Moodle site – contains resources to help develop positive learning and wellbeing skills to become a confident, resilient learner
- Being Well, Living Well modules on Moodle – with modules to help you learn how to maintain a healthy body and mind while at University
- Togetherall, a safe, online, peer community where you can anonymously connect with people with the same experiences as you. You can also take self-assessments, complete short wellbeing courses, and speak with a mental health professional if you want to.
- Student Space
- NHS Good Thinking
- The Kooth online mental wellbeing community
- The SLAM recovery college offers free online wellbeing workshops for all.
